At Community of Understanding Peers (CUP), we believe that collaboration is the cornerstone of recovery, hope, and community resilience. We are offering a free space on our website to spotlight organizations—big or small—that are making a difference in the lives of others. Though this is offered for free Donations are always appreciated and go towards helping put Smart Recovery handbooks in our jails and to Individuals coming to our meetings as well as everyday expenses.
This is open to ALL organizations helping people, not just those in addiction and mental health. Whether you're supporting youth, families, housing, veterans, domestic violence survivors, community reintegration, or any other cause—we want to amplify your work.

Spotlight: Alternative PTSD Therapies for Veterans
At CUP, we believe healing takes many paths. We invite you to explore this thoughtful article from Rob Levine Law, “Alternative PTSD Therapies for Veterans,” which outlines innovative, evidence-informed options such as yoga, art therapy, aromatherapy, equine-assisted work, and more.
While the article specifically highlights veterans, the principles apply to anyone recovering from trauma, addiction, or seeking new ways to find peace, resilience, and connection. We especially appreciated how it reinforces the value of holistic, peer-based, and community-grounded supports—core to our mission at CUP.
Whether you’re a veteran, a family member, or a peer in recovery, we hope you’ll read the article and consider how one (or more) of these alternatives might fit into your journey. As always, if you’d like to talk through how this might look in your own support plan, reach out — we’re here for you.
